Mechanical and automotive industry including automotive component industry are a nationally-supported, vital industry with a promising growth and possibility in the future. Currently, many domestic auto manufacturers and part manufacturers require a growing number of competent mechanical and automotive engineers every year. School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering provides students with fundamental engineering theories and experimental experiences for research and development in the future with the aids of abundant advanced testing and measuring equipments and hardwares along with CAD/CAM/CAE/CAT softwares. We aim to train students to become competent mechanical and automotive engineers with the ability in mechanical design, manufacturing technologies and engineering analysis techniques. Our education policy and well-organized curriculum undoubtedly result in the qualities and standards required by the mechanical and automotive industry.

Since 1996, the establishment of School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, we have been the regional center of education and research in the south-east Korea, combining automotive component manufactures in the area and providing them with state-of-the-art technologies and technical solutions in many fields by the devotion of our professors who have professional experiences as well as scholastic excellence. We have been very successful in raising research and education funds and grants from many resources including government and private companies, such as 5,000,000,000\ from MOCIE (currently, Ministry of Knowledge Economy) for 1998-2004, 4,000,000,000\ from MEST (Ministry of Education, Science and Technology) for 1999-2005, and 7,000,000,000\ from MOCIE for 2002-2012 by establishing Technology Innovation Center for Digital Design and Production of Automotive Parts and so on.

Many graduates of School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering are very actively participating in the fields of research and development, design, testing and evaluation, and manufacturing in Hyundai and Kia Motors, Renault-Samsung Motor Co., GM Daewoo Auto and Technology as well as in many automotive part manufacturing companies like Hyundai Mobis. The list of the companies where our graduates work is not confined to automotive industry but extends to Samsung Electronics, Samsung SDS, LG Electronics, LG Micron, Samsung Heavy Industry, Hyundai Heavy Industry, STX, Sindo-ricoh, Doosan Heavy Industry, etc.

We hope many creative and ambitious students ready to face challenging tasks in mechanical and automotive engineering would join our program, develop their own abilities and make a difference for the future with the assistance of our devoted professors and excellent program.
